Leen Kawas is an entrepreneur, inventor, and biotech executive with decades of experience in corporate financing and development. He is the Managing General Partner of Propel Bio Partners, a venture capital firm with a mission to invest and build life sciences companies to create innovative solutions and therapies. She is also the former CEO of Athira Pharma, a drug discovery and development company.
Leen Kawas is an expert in driving the growth of early-stage biotech companies and creating value through clinical trial methodologies. She has a successful track record of negotiating financing deals, developing partnerships, and commercializing new therapies. She has extensive experience in drug discovery, operations, project management, and business development.

Dr Kawas has also served on several boards, including the Life Science Washington, the Alzheimer’s Association‘s Washington Chapter Board, the Scientific Review Board for the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, Washington Governor’s Life Science Advisory Board and co-chair of the International Alzheimer’s Association Business Consortium. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and events.
