Akeem Jamal
Akeem Jamal is a part of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation. His job is to set up interviews with people who are also involved with the company. The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation was formed in 1872. This company creates and develops business strategies and invests money in businesses on their island so they grow and prosper. The company focuses on doing what’s best for them and their communities, which can make it difficult sometimes because they may have to turn down offers or make difficult decisions.
The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation is also very strict regarding which people can do certain jobs. They have a list of qualifications they look for when hiring people, and Akeem Jamal must have the qualifications to get his job. Akeem Jamal is one of the island’s few only African American employees.
Setting up interviews for people makes Akeem an important part of the company because they need to hire someone who can do their jobs well. Akeem Jamal is also in charge of direct mailings, helping with applications for job openings, and collecting mail from people when they go on vacation or are out of town for any reason. This is among the most important jobs that Akeem does because, without him, the offices would be very slow, and it would be impossible to run the company. He has been with RIOC for a long time, which shows his dedication to his job. Akeem has many talents, such as singing and playing the bass guitar. He utilizes most of his time at work, but when he isn’t at work, he spends it with his family and friends or doing something fun for himself.
A board of directors ensures the RIOC is going in the right direction. They also make sure that all the decisions will be best for them as a company and their surroundings. This board consists of nine members, all of whom are retired or have left their business careers so that they can put their efforts and time into this company.
