Health Carousel Becomes Recertified As an Ethical Recruiter
The mission of this company is quite clear. They want to make sure people have a chance to get the jobs they want and employers can find the employees they need. It’s not often a company will be held accountable for selling themselves well, but Health Carousel have shown that they are doing just that, which is why their ethics are so highly rated in the morning.
Health Carousel grew out of a desire by CEO and Founder, Ben Garber to help everyone find an appropriate job on Craigslist. Over time it became obvious that there were many more people in need of work than was being done online, so he stepped in to try and fix this issue for himself and others like him.
Garber decided to make a change with his company and use his position to do good. He wanted Health Carousel to ensure that every employer got the best possible candidate before they ever made an offer, while also making sure the recruiters were held accountable for the way they provided a service.
“I’ve always been interested in HR and how it could be improved,” said Garber. “I wanted to create an HR system that people would recognize as totally transparent, but which did not require a PhD.”
Garber realized that this idea was flawed and also knew that he had to find someone who was experienced in recruitment before he could go any further. He found this person in Brian Youdel, a computer programmer and friend who was ready to take on the mission of HR reform. Youdel has been at the forefront of making sure Health Carousel is doing the right thing for all the people they help.
Youdel remembers being skeptical when Garber first told him about his idea but was soon on board with it. “It’s a great organization that emphasizes transparency and ethics,” said Youdel. “I’m glad I got involved as he believes in what he’s doing and it shows.
