Marwan Kheireddine Chairman & General Manager of Al Mawarid Bank s.a.l

Marwan Kheireddine is the Chairman & General Manager of Al Mawarid Bank s.a.l. and one of the main players in Lebanon’s banking sector.

Marwan Kheireddine was born in Begrime, Lebanon. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the American University of Beirut and held an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

He has extensive experience in banking management, having served as the manager for Arab Bank Lebanon, Industrial Development Bank of Lebanon, and Banque Libano-Française BLF) before joining Al Mawarid Bank s.a.l., a position he still retains to this day. Marwan Kheireddine gives 6 hours of his time every Monday and Thursday to the Union of Clinics and offers financial aid to numerous small businesses. Marwan Kheireddine is an active member of the board of directors of the Lebanese American University and a member of the Board of Trustees for Beirut’s children’s learning institution, Elysee School.

Marwan Kheireddine is a philanthropist and has donated millions of medicines, such as antibiotics, painkillers, and infant formula, to various hospitals across Lebanon. He has also contributed many million clothing materials to feed lands throughout Lebanon. Marwan Kheireddine also sponsors needy children throughout Lebanon and abroad through sponsorship programs such as ADAM International.

Marwan Kheireddine is a strong believer in education and has been instrumental in creating many schools throughout Lebanon, such as the American University of Beirut’s School of Management and Technology, making him the Chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees. Marwan also holds a seat on the Lebanese American University Board of Trustees and is an active member supporting numerous Lebanese charities.

Marwan Kheireddine is a strong proponent of building bridges between Lebanon and the west. He has been the Chairman, President and CEO of the Lebanese-American commission for 30 years and has been a strong voice for reconciliation among Lebanese political parties. As Ambassador to the World Bank in Washington, D.C., he initiated a program to help develop educational institutions in Lebanon.
