Nick Millican: Leaving London Brings More Space, Sea Views, and Artistic Community

Real estate expert Nick Millican knows by own experience that moving from London has led the former hospital matron to a Kent townhouse and a new life in a community of artists. Cayli Hutton lived for 25 years. Hutton was fortunate to buy the flat in East London before the area became fashionable.

East London’s thriving arts scene attracted Hutton to the area. In the last few years, Nick Millican adds, Hutton has moved incrementally several times to take advantage of more space and affordable prices. In 2014, Hutton moved from Zone 1 and into Epping. The move allowed Hutton to get a bigger house for the budget but had the additional benefit of enjoying the Epping Forest.

In addition, this enabled her to have a more peaceful way of life. Hutton left her Hoxton flat and moved into a two-bedroom house. Though Hutton gained space, she still had to commute to work at Homerton Hospital. Nick Millican adds that though Cayli Hutton worked as lead matron at Homerton Hospital, she has always been creative and studied art at Central Saint Martins before looking to work in nursing.

When Hutton visited a friend in Margate, she noticed the vibrant artistic community and decided it was time to move. In 2019, Cayli Hutton transferred her job to Kent. Sold her two-bedroom house and bought a four-bedroom, three-story Victorian townhouse with sea views in Ramsgate. Nick Millican adds that Hutton bought the Victorian townhouse for the fantastic price of £286,000.

The price was such a deal, but the townhouse needed considerable renovation. Hutton lives with her twenty-three-year-old daughter, who is a stylist and interior architect. Recently, Cayli Hutton retired to focus on her art. She enjoys visiting with friends and taking in the sea views. Real Estate expert Nick Millican believes that moving for more affordable homes is a rising trend in the Real Estate market.
