Randy Douthit
Randy Douthit is an American executive producer with credits on “Judge Judy” and “The People’s Court.” He is currently President of the Emmy award-winning production company, Douthit Productions and is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Randy Douthit was born in New York City in 1949. He received his BA from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He began working in television at WCBS-TV in New York City, where he began a career as a producer and writer for various local news programs. In 1984, he moved to Los Angeles to work as an executive producer at Dick Wolf Productions on “New York Undercover.” He subsequently worked as an executive producer on “Judge Judy” before moving to CBS Television Distribution in 1998 to become president of CBS Paramount Network Television Production.
In 2000, he was promoted to CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment president. In 2008, he became president of CBS Paramount Domestic Television, where he remains today. In 2011, he was appointed president of CBS Television Studios and CBS Paramount Domestic Television, and in 2013, he became president of CBS Paramount Television Productions.
Randy Douthit is an active member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Museum of Broadcast Communications and serves as a commissioner on the Los Angeles City Council’s Entertainment Industry Committee.
He is a member of the advisory board at the UCLA Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film. He is also a member of the advisory board at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where he has served as a trustee since 2005.
In addition to his executive producing credits on “Judge Judy” and “The People’s Court,” Randy Douthit has made other television programs, including “The View,” “The Tyra Banks Show,” and “Gossip Girl,” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.” He is currently President of Douthit Productions, Inc., founded in 1999. Douthit Productions, Inc. produces such programs as “Judge Judy” on CBS, which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 2007 and numerous other awards for its production company work.
