Thrive Living’s Ambitious Baldwin Hills Project Breaks New Ground

In a groundbreaking development for Baldwin Hills, Thrive Living has launched the construction of a pioneering mixed-use project, marking the debut of a Costco store beneath residential units. Spearheaded by Ben Shaoul, the founder of Thrive Living, this ambitious project is set to redefine urban living in Los Angeles.

Ben Shaoul, known for his innovative approach to real estate, has chosen a site rich with history for this venture. The location, once home to the View Park Community Hospital, has remained dormant since 2021. Thrive Living’s plan to transform this vacant land into a thriving community space highlights Shaoul’s commitment to urban revitalization.

The development, designed with prefabricated modular units, promises to deliver 800 apartments, with 184 designated as affordable housing. Shaoul’s strategy to privately finance the project, bypassing government subsidies, sets it apart in the affordable housing sector.

Ben Shaoul’s collaboration with Orange-based architectural firm AO is evident in the project’s design. The building will feature a six-story structure with Costco on the ground floor, complemented by residential units above. The inclusion of inset balconies and a mix of gray and brown trims adds a modern aesthetic to the development.

In addition to providing essential retail services, the project aims to enhance community living. Plans include five courtyards, a rooftop pool, basketball courts, and more, offering residents a comprehensive living experience.

The venture is a testament to Ben Shaoul’s ability to navigate and innovate within the real estate industry. With an expected completion date by early 2027, Thrive Living’s Baldwin Hills project under Shaoul’s leadership is poised to become a landmark development, illustrating a progressive blend of commercial and residential real estate.
