Tom Keane´s Role at The Black Diamond Community
From its small beginnings as a software company that was self-funded in 1981, Microsoft grew the company into one of the most famous and innovative software companies in history. He worked on making Microsoft Computer Services (MCS), which is still used by 10 million businesses worldwide today. Software developer and cloud services engineer Tom Keane is the one leading the expansion and delivery projects for MCS.
When the technology expert Tom was in college, he learned that many small businesses needed computers or used computers with old operating systems. This was the start of the company. So he made MCS offer these clients computing options on solid-state drives. He made MCS while he was still in school. Tom Keane explains that the MCS was initially successful because it helped businesses move their accounting programs to new computers when they got new ones.
Tom and Dan were two of the first people to join the MCS. Soon after, David Wittenberg and John Hendrickson also joined. The business made $2 million in sales annually and had 15 workers. The cloud services engineer explains that this growth kept going until the company had 150 workers across the country. Under the leadership of Tom Keane, Microsoft had started to pay attention to the MCS.
They bought the company to get a piece of the growing business applications software market. There, the software developer Tom Keane from Microsoft Corporation became general manager of Microsoft’s corporate business unit shortly after the company bought it. Tom was made vice president and general manager of Applications Development and Marketing at Microsoft (Twitter).
In this position, he was in charge of ensuring that Windows NT Server software was made. Tom Keane loved helping people and making a difference in his neighborhood. Tom gave money and land to make the Black Diamond Community happen. The Black Diamond Community has been home to many programs connected to human services, fitness, health, education, the arts, etc. They have also put on many events yearly that have helped the local community a lot.
